Mary Ann Toots Zynsky

Mary Ann Zynsky, better known as "Toots", attended the Rhode Island School of Design while gaining experience in several factories in the USA. She dealt with glass and ceramics, not only as designer, but also as teacher. The American artist is well-known for the filet-de-verre technique, which consists in getting thin glass wires from glass rods. She has exhibited at important museums - such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, and the Corning Museum of Glass - and private collections all over the world, and designed the torch for the Paralympic Games of 2002.
