Magnificent sculpture of a pelican in submerged glass in the colors of rose, and gold leaf. The large open beak contains a fish made with polychrome glass paste. The chromatic contrasts are accentuated by the green plumage on the head, and by the green of the submerged rock glass that serves as a bases. The variety of animals, in particular birds, were highly used as model by Murano glass masters, who tried to reproduce the dynamic shape of the bodies. This is a work made by Ottone Ferro, master in the A.Ve.M glassworks.
