Twelve beechwood chairs with a particular design: the seat and the back are engraved with branch-like motifs, putti and grotesque, as used in the best Jugendstil productions. These are the works of Jakob and Josef Kohn artisan workshop in Wien, as proved by the cartouches and the original stamps of the factory placed under the seats. The Kohns were furniture producers and interior designers since 1849. Suppliers also of the royal houses, they have collaborated with numerous artists including Hoffmann, and their works can be admired in major museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
