Beautiful tea and coffee set complete with sugar bowl and milk jug, of Italian manufacture, made of continental silver in the 1950s. All pieces rest on a shaped oval base and are characterized by convex, flowing lines and large vertical ribs. Particularly decorative are the curly handles and lid sockets molded in a plant motif. This set perfectly embodies postwar bourgeois taste, in which the desire for a return to luxury and refinement is expressed through the embrace of historic styles revisited in a modern key.
