Antonio Pandiani was born in Milan in 1838 into a family of industrial foundry owners, and died in the same city in 1928. In 1886 he took over the fortunes of the foundry into which he inserted a high-level artistic production conceived and designed by himself. His works often reproduce in miniature historical monuments located in the most prestigious Italian squares. This sculpture in fact represents the noble Bergamo leader Bartolomeo Colleoni as Verrocchio represented him in the Equestrian Monument towards the end of the 15th century. The 395 cm high original monument is located in Campo San Zanipolo in Venice. The object bears a signature on the base and is in excellent conditions, however one detail is missing: the sword.

Ho fatto pulire e controllare i miei gioielli, quando li ho rivisti ho fatto un salto indietro nel tempo di molti anni, oggi rivedo finalmente questi monili di nuovo brillanti e luminosi come quando mia madre li acquistò da giovane per indossarli e viverli in ogni buona occasione.
