David Teniers the Younger - Etching - Belgium 17th century

Etching signed by David Teniers the Younger, a Flemish painter of 1600s. This etching is the number 84 of its series, and belonged to the Duke of Choiseul - a French politician and diplomat. Here the artist depicted the distribution of bread, by using a black line to create contrast between light and shadow. Many etchings of Teniers are exhibited at the British Museum in London and at Getty Museum of Los Angeles.
