Painting by Gerolamo Induno - Oil on canvas - Milan 19th Century
Gerolamo Induno is the younger brother of the more famous painter Domenico, and he attended the Brera Academy in Milan. He realizes usually light and vibrant live paintings, especially portraits and historic paintings. In 1855 he exhibited, together with his brother, at the Paris Universal Exposition, where he has a good succes. This painting represents a portrait of a young lady, typic of this artist, and it is a perfect example of his technique of using light brushstrokes.
