Particular fish-shaped sculpture made of thick transparent
sommerso (submerged) glass with emerald green inclusions, which outline the shape of the animal and are reflected throughout the body. It was firstly intended as an ashtray, in fact it has a deep hollow in the center, that gives movement and light to the entire sculpture. It was made in the 1960s by the
Cenedese glassworks based on a design by Antonio Da Ros, a Venetian artist known for his ability to use a complex technique to create his glass works, made up of multiple layers of different colors that produce a polychromatic seabed effect. His contemporary art pieces in submerged glass are known throughout the world and have always had space in editions of the Venice Biennale.
