Beautiful Murano glass vase made in matte antique-red glass, belonging to the "Cinese" series, designed by Carlo Scarpa in the 1940s, when he was the artistic director of Venini. This distinctive vase form, originally conceived by the architect himself, was later reissued in the late 1960s by his son Tobia Scarpa and by Ludovico Diaz de Santillana, Paolo Venini’s son‑in‑law and director of the glassmaker during those years. The base bears the engraved signature ‘Venini ’90’. Remarkable collector’s piece in perfect condition, that stands out both for its colour and for its form, surely less common than others within the same series.
