Dario Galimberti was born in Chioggia, and was particularly fascinated by the Venetian painters of 1800s, such as Ciardis, Fragiacomo, and Ettore Tito. As in most of his works, here he depicts his hometown, in particular the Ponte Filippini, with the Church of S. Domenico in the background, where some of the works of Carpaccio and Tintoretto are kept. The skillful use of vibrant colours gives great energy to this particular painting.
