Murano glass sculpture - Sogni Infranti - Mario Bellini for Venini 1992

Wonderful Murano glass artwork from the series Sogni Infranti (broken dreams) realized by the Venini glassworks following the drawing of Mario Bellini, an internationally acclaimed architect and designer. Some colored glass-stripes are laying on top of a black glass vase with puleghe (air bubbles), thrown away like dreams that were never achieved. Bellini started from some material discarded by the glassmakers, in order to realize a series of works that he defines as "a provocation in a world trapped in an amazing but old tradition". This particular work of art was one of the experiments Bellini made, as the sign "Venini PdA" (attempt by the artist) suggests.
