Glass vase "battuti" series - Carlo Scarpa - Venini Murano 1940s
Splendid vase in thick black glass finished with dense horizontal grindings, made by Venini based on a design by Carlo Scarpa. It belongs to the 'Battuti' series, thick glasses whose surface is distinguished by the particular finishing performed on the grinding wheel. This technique was devised in the 1940s by Scarpa to give the glass an appearance similar to hammered silver (honeycomb keystrokes). This vase has a slight constriction on the body which gives a particular shape. At the base it has the acid signature 'Venini Murano Italia'.

Ho fatto pulire e controllare i miei gioielli, quando li ho rivisti ho fatto un salto indietro nel tempo di molti anni, oggi rivedo finalmente questi monili di nuovo brillanti e luminosi come quando mia madre li acquistò da giovane per indossarli e viverli in ogni buona occasione.
